Cone 06-05. These glazes provide the metallic look of hard steel and the high brilliance of lustre. The end result is determined by the structure of the ware and the method of application. Lustre and Metallic glazes can be used in conjunction with other glazes or by themselves. The Lustre and Metallic glazes can be high fired to Cone 4-6 (2161-2269 degrees F, 1183 -1243 degrees C) with fantastic results.
Stir and mix Lustre and Metallic glazes thoroughly. They should be the consistency of rich cream. If thinning is necessary, add a little water and AMACO Gum Solution. Apply these glazes by brushing or sponging on a mature Cone 04 (1971 degrees F, 1077 degrees C) bisque. Fire to Cone 06-05 (1855-1911 degrees F, 1013-1044 degrees C). L-518 only: fire to Cone 04 (1971 degrees F, 1077 degrees C).
